Howard Dean address the DFL state convention (updated)
Updated
DNC Chair Howard Dean addressed the crowd.
"The DNC sent organizers to every district in MN," Howard explained. "But if the DFL hadn't sent its own organizing teams into each House district, Tim Walz wouldn't be in the House right now."
"We honor John McCain's service to our country, but he's done enough," he said. "John McCain just figured out that Americans want change. He mentioned it 33 times the other day. He needed to mention that a 34th time and ad that we want real change." He went on to talk about Bush and McCain standing for the status quo, 100 more years in Iraq and finished with this gem: "The John McCain of 2000 wouldn't vote for the John McCain of 2008."
He also talked about the special elections we just won. "We can win these seats in MN if we can win in Louisiana," he said.
"While we have a 50 state strategy for the country, we need a 87 county strategy in MN to win the Senate seat," he said. "Barack Obama isn't going to win this election, you are." He then encouraged all the delegates to door knock in every district. He emphasized that the door-to-door work will guarantee a high turnout and victories in President, Senate and House races.
