Minnesota Majority continues to try to suppress the vote
Minnesota Majority continues to try and suppress votes in the 2008 election. They were making calls in the run-up to intimidate voters and now they want to contest voters who had someone vouch for them. This is typical Republican strategy -- work hard to disenfranchise voters in Democratic-leaning areas.
Minnesota Majority's motto is "Standing Together for Traditional Values." Funny how traditional Republican values include vote suppression. Funny that they'd be lashing out at the MN Secretary of State Mark Ritchie after he began investigating their suppression efforts.
The group is also seeking records from the Secretary of State's Office and county officials under the state's Data Practices Act on registration procedures, such as verification postcards returned as "undeliverable" and voters who registered by having someone vouch for them.

I'm sure Jeff Davis and Co. won't trying to suppress votes in Stearns or any other conservative counties. I'm sure he'll be targeting Hennepin and Ramsey counties.
As Republicans did more successfully in other states, they try to intimidate voters in the hope that they will be frightened to vote or at least confused. Thankfully, Mary Kiffmeyer is no longer Sec of State and is only able to assist them in their efforts as a consultant.
Ritchie says Larry Johnson of St. Paul got a call from a woman who claimed to be working with the secretary of state's office on voter fraud. She had questions about his voting record.
Johnson signed an affidavit saying the woman later told him she was working with Jeff Davis, the head of a conservative group, Minnesota Majority, that has been questioning the integrity of Minnesota's voter rolls.

Furthermore, they are demanding voters display photo IDs and end our practice of same day registration.
The group called Minnesota Majority outlined its election reform agenda today during a State Capitol news conference.
Spokesman Jeff Davis claims that same-day registration leads to errors, such as voters casting ballots in the wrong precinct. Davis says no one should be allowed to vote until their legal eligibility has been verified.

Yet another bunch of right wing knuckleheads to keep our eyes on.

Majority of What?
Minnesota Majority's Hero's and Zeros depicts a certain kind of person as the hero. Care to take a look (see the pictures)?
I think this group doesn't deserve mention...
I have a lot of traditional values, but I don't feel any connection with this group.

Minnesota Majority White Supremacists
It cannot be said enough. Those at the Minnesota Majority, lead by former Sec State Kiffmeyer, are white supremacists. To be clear, this is no opinion. They officially and explicitly extolled the virtues of racial purity. (mixed race babies die more because they are racially impure).
(As an aside, the racially "pure" babies in Minnesota Majority's study survived more because they came from a country with universal health care, not because they were "pure". Their study was more an argument for universal care than racial purity, but white supremacists will grasp at what they can.)
Holly's link to their heroes page makes it even more clear that they only value white males, and despise minorities.

Hey Alec
I wonder how you know about Minnesota Majority. I didn't like a lot of what I saw but I couldn't find anything explicity "white supremacist."
BTW, is this a group that goes into the church community for donations?
White supremacists
Holly,
Like all good supremacists, they have covered their tracks well. Last year they posted a study that said the infant mortality rate of Swedish kids was less than our inner city mixxed race kids. The extolled the virtues of this "racial purity" as the reason for Swedish kids dying less, since Sweden is mostly homogeneous. They scrubbed it after getting a lot of flack.
Who doesn't think talk of racial purity is not offensive? White supremacists. Anyone who extols the virtues of racial purity is a white supremacist.

Misinformation is Abundant
"They were making calls in the run-up to intimidate voters and now they want to contest voters who had someone vouch for them."
Assumptions will place egg on face. This is pure supposition, and incorrect. Minnesota Majority made exactly 25 phone calls to do research on some anomalies in the voter files. We asked: Is this your current address? Did you ever live at this other address? The reason we have requested a list of vouched-for voters is for list comparison and statistical analysis. Minnesota Majority has had nothing to do with the recount and even if we were interested in challenging vouched voters (which we are not), it would be IMPOSSIBLE. Ballots aren’t marked with any identifying information, and it’s impossible to know who cast what ballot.
"Who doesn't think talk of racial purity is not offensive?"
Again, nonsense. Minnesota Majority does not "extol the virtues of racial purity." This is total garbage, and typical of left-wing attacks on any conservative. All conservatives are racist, right-wing religious nuts. It's on page one of the liberal playbook and apparently, there is no page two. I believe what the commentator is referring to is an excerpt reproduced from a book by Dave Racer, wherein he explained why different countries have different health care needs and health outcomes. One mentioned factor is genetics. Some genetic pools are more prone to certain conditions, while others are more resilient to certain others. He was describing scientific, medical statistics. It's unfortunate that Mr. Racer used (probably unwittingly) language that would later be interpreted by some as racist code.
"Minnesota Majority's Hero's and Zeros depicts a certain kind of person as the hero. Care to take a look (see the pictures)?"
Holy crap, do you live in an invincible state of delusion, or what? Hey look! Their legislative “heroes” are all white men! RACIST!!! Maybe you should read a bit, too. Those are the only members of the House who voted with Minnesota Majority's position 100% of the time. Zeros - well, it should be self-explanatory.
"I'm sure Jeff Davis and Co. won't trying to suppress votes in Stearns or any other conservative counties. I'm sure he'll be targeting Hennepin and Ramsey counties."
Assumptions are dangerous business. Minnesota Majority is only interested in "suppressing" fraudulent votes. This is something we should all be interested in. Evidence of irregularities in 30 counties has been forwarded to county attorneys for investigation. Hennepin and Ramsey are the most populous counties and are included in the list as are Anoka, Dakota, and 26 others - where ever we've uncovered evidence of irregularities that should be examined more closely.

We now return to your regularly scheduled baseless smears and supposition…
Good intent, but Hidden Racism?
Hello DanMC,
It's nice to hear that Minnesota Majority doesn't extol the virtues of racial purity. I am not even sure what that means... "extol the virtues of racial purity."
So let me ask this: Does that mean Minnesota Majority readily accept and support Minnesota's minorities? Do the organization/ Minnesota Majority members value equality and inclusion?

No, it isn't self explanatory. Why are all the zeros women and people of color? Maybe it is "hidden" racism and even you don't see it.
I contacted Minnesota Majority so they can respond
I contacted MM to see if they would respond here. (Yes, I am aware there is a DanMc over there, but hey, there's a thousand DanMc's around here). Here is my invitation to Minnesota Majority:
