Who knew? Kline and Bachmann are pro-monkey smuggling!

Recently, the primate trafficking bill passed the house with overwhelming bi-partisan support. This was a bill to make it a federal crime to traffic in primates. It was bipartisan in the sense that Republicans and Democrats supported it. Of course it did not include the extreme right wingers Kline and Bachmann, who voted against making it a federal crime to traffic in primates. Who knew that those two were supported by the Monkey Pirate lobby!

A different motivation
I don't think there is much of a lobby for primate smugglers, actually. More likely, they see a loss of potential voters.
