Why is Decision Making So Stupid?
Is anyone else out there wondering about the sanity of any decision making in the human race? I want to ask questions that no one wants to answer like
1) To Conservatives: How can you believe in fiscal responsibility and still support Republicans creating trillions of dollars of debt? How can you want "limited" government where Republicans invade two countries, are now planning on a third country? If you believed in fiscal responsibility and limited government why aren't you totally abandoning the Republican party?
2) To CEO's: You have bought off governments and control the financial power of the planet. Why don't you care about global change melting Arctic Ice? Don't you have grandchildren or plan to live through a long retirement? Why don't you, CEOs. who have the power, do something responsible and effective?
3) To Republicans in Power: Are you really trying to start a nuclear war? Do you really think other countries will let you steal oil?
4) To Democrats in congress: Why can't you hold the line on anything, not even telecom immunity? Then why should we ever.. ever believe in you? You can't paint Republicans bad enough, if Democrats never have a spine. Hello, Amy Klobuchar are you listening?
5)To moderates everywhere: Why are earth would anyone believe that a "half" solution is a good solution? Do you like our half wars, Afghanistan and Iraq? Do you think that if we only attack Iran with half strength, that we will be in any less of a war?
6) To people everywhere: Why do you believe in official news that told you there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? Why would you get upset about a flag pin, with Hitler could have worn a flag pin and that still would not have changed anything? Why do you keep believing lies from the same people that lied to you before?
7) To activists, progressives, greens and peacemakers: Why do you give up when something goes wrong, when an election has been lost or some politician is not as good as you hoped for? What did you think, that this would be easy? Did you think we were in a movie, where in two hours the good guys had to win? Did you think that you only had to try once and then you could retire for the rest of your life?
8) To pro life Christian religious folk: Where in the ten commandments does it say only fetuses count? If you believe in "Do not kill" then how do support two wars and the planning for a third war? Really, would Jesus support the Republicans and yet anther war? Really what will you say on Judgment day, when God lays before you a million dead Iraq people and ask you why you supported that?
Bottom line: there is always something good and effective to do each day. Everyone of us could be working in some campaign, making a difference. Lets all do our part. All the little bits add up to a huge effect. What you doing today for your contributing bit?

A couple of answers
#1 And the alternative would be? Bush and Pawlenty certainly have not been fiscally conservative, but think of how much worse the spending would have been without their veotes. If a party comes along that is for spending wisely (instead of just more) I'm in.
#2 I'm guessing that in order to keep their jobs, CEOs need to please their shareholders, not their grandchildren.
#3 No nuclear war is in the near future although it would certainly clear up a few problems if it did.
#4 Why do liberals continue to support the Democratic Party?
#5 Compromise, in order to get through our distorted congrssional process typically leaves us with half.
#6 Who is telling the truth?
#7 As a matter of fact, most do think that it should be easy.
#8 I'm thinking about collecting all the virgins instead...
Bottom line:
Campaigns chew up time that I would be spending at our church's CEAP garden, helping the widow up the street with her lawn, helping pre-marriage couples through a PREPARE program, picking up trash on my walks or bike rides, etc. And I think you meant to say "What are you doing today..."
