republiCon Ron – Hopelessly Delusional, Or Pathological Liar?
Ron Carey, as far as I can tell, has never taken any responsibility for any problem – it’s always an attack by “an enemy”, and sometimes even “Enemies Of The Party.” Doesn’t matter what the issue is, it’s always someone else’s fault. I asked a previous question about Ron Carey, Ron Carey: Pathetically Incompetent, or Criminally Culpable? concerning Carey’s atrocious ‘stewardship” and record of noncompliance with FEC Reporting Requirements (and other financial improprieties). Today, after the way republiCon Ron twisted and distorted the facts concerning C.R.E.W, the question must be asked: Is Ron Carey hopelessly delusional, or a pathological liar?
There’s obviously one difference between the Republican Party of Minnesota (“RPM”), and C.R.E.W. (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington): when republiCon Ron feels there’s a wrong been done, he files a press release. When C.R.E.W. feels a wrong has been done, they file a complaint. Here’s an example, and I quote from today’s RPM press release:
OK, CREW is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; as such, they must – MUST – be independent AND non-partisan. If ol’ republiCon Ron had any facts backing his claim of being a front group for Franken and Schumer, he would have filed a complaint, not a press release.
But since CREW is a 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to promoting ethics and accountability in government and public life by targeting government officials -- regardless of party affiliation -- who sacrifice the common good to special interests, CREW files a complaint, NOT a press release.
In other words, unlike republiCon Ron, CREW walks the walk. What really takes chutzpah, though, is republiCon Ron demanding anyone explain anything, because explaining the RPM’s financial reporting problems is something Ron Carey flat out has refused to do. For instance:
The delay in depositing the money could have benefitted the party by giving it temporary access to the employees' funds.
Carey didn't explain why the retirement money wasn't deposited promptly.
"There seemed to be some gray areas as to what was the requirement," Carey said. Asked to explain the gray areas, he said, "I really would prefer not to get into the weeds on something like that.
"We investigated what the requirements were and made sure we were immediately in full compliance with that," he said.
Carey did not directly respond to Tostenson's claim that the employees' money was used temporarily to cover party expenses.(StarTribune)
That was from a story in the Star Tribune, by Pat Doyle and Dan Browning. And that story, in the Star Tribune, led CREW to file a complaint with the FEC concerning RPM, and Ron Carey’s, financial problems as discussed by RPM employees.
The complaint filed by CREW against RPM wasn’t some “Al Franken Witch Hunt”, as republiCon Ron would like you to believe; the complaint was initiated by CREW because long-time RPM employees couldn’t stomach the excesses that republiCon Ron apparently feasted on.
It must be noted that to this day, republiCon Ron has not adequately addressed the internally-generated financial questions within the RPM.
It must also be noted that this is the fourth Senator this year CREW has requested an investigation on. The first three are Senator Mary Landrieu, and Senators Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad – all three whom happen to be Democrats.
So, is Ron Carey really claiming that due to Al Franken’s undue influence, an Al Franken-directed CREW filed a complaint against THREE DEMOCRATIC PARTY SENATORS??!?
Does that make any sense to you? Apparently it does, to republiCon Ron. Remember, republiCon Ron claimed that CREW is under Democratic Senator Schumer's spell, too.
Which gets us back to the blather republiCon Ron sent out, in today’s press release. Why does republiCon Ron twist and distort, so much? Is it because Ron Carey is hopelessly delusional, or a pathological liar?
Stay tuned!
