McCain has Temper Tantrums

A Republican senator, Thad Cochran, describes Senator McCain grabbing and lifting a foreign official, when Senator McCain was acting in an official senate role.

Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., told a Mississippi newspaper that he saw McCain, during a trip to Nicaragua led by former Sen. Bob Dole, R-Kan., grab an Ortega associate by his shirt collar and lift him out of his chair.

The Republican presidential contender, who is known for his hot temper, was questioned about the alleged incident at a news conference Wednesday here. He noted that at the time, he had been asked to co-chair a Central American working group in the Senate with Democrat Chris Dodd, D-Conn., and had made several trips to the region in that role.

McCain denies this happened, so Republican Senator Cochran was asked to confirm his statement, which he did.

In response to a request for more information about the McCain-Sandinista incident, Cochran spokeswoman Margaret McPhillips released the following statement:

"I think Sen. Cochran went in to as much detail yesterday as is necessary to make the point that, though Sen. McCain has had problems with his temper, he has overcome them. Though Sen. Cochran saw the incident he described to you, decades have passed since then and he wanted to make the point that over the years he has seen Sen. McCain mature into an individual who is not only spirited and tenacious but also thoughtful and levelheaded. As Sen. Cochran said yesterday, he believes Sen. McCain has developed into the best possible candidate for president."

Here is the punchline, the immature McCain was: 1987 (incident happened) - 1936 (birth year) =

51 years old

(snark warning)because Republicans are still maturing at 51 years of age, and I guess, reach their maturity, at what - 100 years?(snark finished)

Senator McCain has a long history of a violent temper:

President Potty Mouth?

It's one thing to swear a bit on the golf course but quite another to do so in front of cameras and in congressional hearings.

McCain's temper and lack of judgment are just 2 more reasons why he's not presidential material.
