On the Streets of Blaine

The first experience of Blaine is that the 280/35W drive there was barely moving even before rush hour. Then it took minutes to cross Highway 65. So transportation in this area is "broken", even when gas prices are NOT high.

On the walk, the first question was about gas prices. I could also tell from the way the question is asked that there wasn't really hope that something could be done to lower prices.

Basically people are being squeezed so that even working people can't afford mortgages and basic bills. Maybe people aren't following the nuances of politics, but they clearly see Republicans are in charge and managing government poorly.

Clearly?

Both national and state houses are controlled by Democrats and thus the initiation of any spending, war withdrawl, government bailouts, etc. Thank God that Obama will score the Democrat trifecta and blame can finally shift again. (It belongs to everyone but that would never do.) Better to be blameless than clueless...

Just Take Transportation

What did it take to force this governor to do anything about falling bridges? Previous articles I wrote show that in the Governor's files were photos of buckling gusset plates on the 35W bridge. So the Governor Pawlenty administration knew and deliberately did nothing! So what did it take to force this governor to do anything about falling bridges?

One fallen bridge with people dead, oh no that was not enough!

A bi-partisan override to force him to fix bridges, oh no that was not enough.

Maybe it was the possibility of another bridge falling just before the Republican National Convention and the desire to be a vice presidential candidate, that inspired some bridge closings and some bridgework to be done.

The state and national executive corrupt spending is ALL controlled by the Republicans and it shows. The media is Corporate Republican controlled and it shows. So the blame sticks clearly where it belongs - on Republicans.

Never has there been an administration as corrupt and inept as the Republican administration that could not handle getting past standing water to get food and water to people that they sent to shelters under our centralized homeland security control!

Not only is the Republican administration corrupt and inept, they don't even care enough about Americans to even feel bad and apologize for when they screw up so badly that people die.

Yeah, we get the "spread the blame" defense of the Republican administrations. Gee you could blame the Democratic congress for not impeaching President Bush fast enough, never mind that there were not enough Democrats.

Oh, wait the sun is rising, you could blame the sun. For if the sun did not rise then President Bush could not have messed up Katrina and Governor Pawlenty could not have messed up the 35W bridge.
