High School Students can't ride the city bus anymore!

So my student comes in today with an injured arm. What happened I asked the student.

Here is the student's response:

"Well, I was trying to catch the bus to my cousins birthday party, and a cop asked me if I was there to protest. I said no, I am catching the bus to my cousins house. The cop told me to go back home, so I walked away. Then the cop threw me down, handcuffed me, and drove me home."

Now, this kid is a scrawny little guy of about 140 pounds maybe who probably would not know how to protest if you gave him a tutorial and a bull horn. Very quiet. So he gets tossed to the ground for trying to take a city bus. WTF.

I understand your concern but your blog entry needs more details

What time did this happen?

Where was the bus stop?

What bus route and destination?

What juristiction was the police officer from?

Were there others in the area who seemed likely to cause trouble?

Were there any rallies near the destination?

Did your student "walk away" as if he was going onto the bus anyway?

It would be much easier to share your anger or be supportive if your post had more relevant details.

I'll ask...

I'll ask tomorrow if he has more details, but I am sure he was scared shitless and didn't know to get the cops badge number. And who cares if he was geting on the bus. Since when is getting on a bus illegal?

Justice will only exist where those not affected by injustice are filled with the same amount of indignaation as those offended.
