Ms. Barnes - by what possible "jounalistic standard"
...could Kevin Diaz' puff piece, today, be considered 'news'?
Ms. Barnes, I wrote my 'The Silence of the Scribes' blogpost (below) this morning, on the way to work.
And I get to work, go in the breakroom, and see Kevin's piece ON THE FRONT PAGE.
I was there, on August 8th, when Kevein Duchschere grilled Mark Drake about Coleman's utility bill; Kevin has told me since then he's asked Team Coleman about that utility bill. And Kevin told me he's gotten no where; a "no where" that I call the ol' "Team Smokescreen, smokescreen."
It's now 2 and a half months later, with NO follow-up story about Team Coleman's not making an actual utility bill available.
Instead, 2 and a half months later, there's Kevin' Diaz' puff piece essentially saying 'nothing to see here, folks! Move along, move along...'
Just how does the Star Tribune defend this story?
And for the record - I just may post this letter to you, verbatim, as a blogpost. If you reply, it also may be posted in entirety.
'The Silence Of The Scribes' is deafening.

Well, here's that letter, Ladies and Gentlemen.
In no way, shape, nor form can Kevin Diaz's puff piece be called "journalism." No way.
Here's the e-mail I sent Kevin Diaz at 10:32 this morning:
Kevin,
I'm a blogger at www.MnBlue.com
I read your story today, about Jeff Larson. Did you happen to ask Jeff Larson about who's name is on the utility bill for the apartment Norm Coleman rents?
If so, what was your answer?

So far, Kevin Diaz's response?
(cue "crickets" soundtrack....)
Stay tuned.
